What are your pet peeves, flist?

For me it's when I hold the door open for a guy and they freak out and insist I go through first. Before anyone calls me a ~humorless feminist~, I am so cool with dudes holding the door open for me. In fact, I think holding the door for someone (regardless of gender~) is the polite thing to do.

But I don't appreciate a guy being all 'OH HOLY SHIT IS THAT A FAIR MAIDEN HOLDING THE DOOR FOR ME? I AM FAILING IN MY MANLY DUTIES, AND SHE MIGHT FAINT FROM THE EFFORT. OH NO, DON'T TAX YOUR ARM LIKE THAT, LET ME HELP.'

SIGH. Look dude, if I reach the door first I'm going to hold it for you. The only other two options would be (1) to slam it in your face, or (2) to stop and wait for you to open it for me. Both of these options are distinctly unappealing. :|

Haha! XD Okay, so that would probably be my reaction if a guy actually acted that way. It has never happened to me, but really I find it very likely that I would start laughing like a crazy person, because what? That has actually happened to you more than once? O_o

Also, I don't so much hold the door open so that people can exit or enter before me, I go through the door and then keep my hand on the door to keep it open until the next person grabs the door and holds it open for themselves. And because I can sometimes be so completely caught up in my own head this means that sometimes I just let the door close itself which means that whoever comes behind me ends up having a door slammed in their face. XD

lol, idek. IT HAS HAPPENED TO ME MORE THAN ONCE! Perhaps I am cursed. :O

Pfft, I wouldn't worry about slamming doors in people's faces. Obviously it is their fault for reaching the door too late, amirite? :D
