I took [this] emotional intelligence test today.

I got a 78. SEVENTY. EIGHT. D:

It's not surprising, but STILL. SEVENTY EIGHT? THAT'S THE BOTTOM 8% OF THE POPULATION. ~depressing~

My little sister got 141. Apparently this means the test is ~accurate, because she took a professional EQ test a while back and got the same score. This is the same sister who asked someone if she could call her 'Rachel' instead of her real name (Emily), because she thought Emily was hard to remember. LIFE IS SO UNFAIR.

Okay, so I did the test. I must say some of those questions were just ridiculous and seriously. We can't say how every person in the worl feels and my opinions on feelings may actually differ a lot from other people because let's face it we are all unique individuals which is a good things and tests like these suck. Yes I got a really low score, how did you know? XP

Apparently you do win over me though because I got 76. SEVENTY SIX! Stupid test!

I got 81, which didn't surprise me. I'm pretty good at gauging moods and figuring out what folks are feeling or how they would react, but generally I'm not very well at understanding it or expressing it. =/

And the question about your sister is whether she answered true to herself or if she simply chose what the 'correct' answer should be.

lol! OBVIOUSLY THE TEST IS AT FAULT, Y/Y/MFY? :D

That one question about feeling awkward when people are overly emotional -- well excuse you. Who ISN'T going to feel awkward when people are crying, hmmmm? THAT IS OBVIOUSLY A DUMB QUESTION. :D

Haha, yeah. It was a weird test. But then I read the blurb and I was like OMG THEY ARE TOTALLY TALKING ABOUT ME FML

(haha, AWESOME, I always end up staring at it longer than I intend to. Or maybe that's not awesome, hmmm~)

Same here! Like, I can figure out (most) social cues, but when it comes to reacting to them? Um. Though sometimes I realize that I shouldn't have reacted a certain way after the fact, but at least I realize stuff eventually? It totally counts. :D? :D? :D?

I did ask her, but idk, I think her score is pretty accurate. She's always been the ~social butterfly~ of the family, and has the ability to take a really awkward situation and turn it around, it's amazing (IT'S A SUPERPOWAHHH). And she's very ~in touch~ with her emotions and the emotions of people around her, too.

Snapshot Report
Self-report Component
Subscale IQ score = 104
Subscale percentile = 61

According to your self-report answers, your emotional intelligence is not extremely good. People who score like you do feel that their ability to understand and deal with their own emotions and those of others is just barely acceptable. Emotionally intelligent people have an easy time overcoming difficulties in their lives and they are generally able to control their moods. It's easy for them to motivate themselves to overcome obstacles and reach their goals. In addition, they find social interactions to be quite easy and fulfilling, for several reasons. They are comfortable allowing themselves to get close with others, and feel comfortable being vulnerable enough to establish intimacy. They also report having an easy time offering support to others; likely due to an empathetic nature and a solid ability to offer advice. Perhaps by working on your problem areas, you can become more confident in dealing with your own emotions and those of others.
