HARRY POTTER CONTINUES TO ROCK

So I've just finished rereading the last three books of the Harry Potter series, something I've been meaning to do for a while. This is the first time I've gotten to read them all knowing how everything turns out.

I have so much more appreciation for Dumbledore (and Snape) now. Dumbledore is just SUCH A GREAT CHARACTER, manipulative and secretive but at the same time good and always willing to give people a second chance. He's also in the habit of wearing ~flamboyantly-cut purple suits~, which says great things about his sense of style, imo. :DDD

And Snape is like the most emo and misunderstood dude in the entire series. I can't help but appreciate that kind of drama, okay. See this line, after Snape killed Dumbledore and Harry called him a coward:

"'DON'T --" screamed Snape, and his face was suddenly demented, inhuman, as though he was in as much pain as the yelping, howling dog stuck in the burning house behind him -- "CALL ME COWARD!"

;___; YOU GUYS. I've never been really crazy about Snape, but THIS LINE IS SO TRAGIC. I would hug you, Snape, but you'd probably hex me and then I'd get grease on my shirt or something.

The Ginny/Harry and Tonks/Lupin is just as annoying on the reread. Tonks is my FAVORITE, with her pink hair and clumsiness and humor, and I am still displeased about what J.K. Rowling did to her character to get her with Lupin. >:[ Angst is okay, but HER ENTIRE STORYLINE basically evolves around her pining for a guy. Gross.

I feel like Tonks/Ginny would have been the better pairing, y/y/mfy? They would have been sharp and funny and had amazing hair together. ♥__♥

Based on all the facts, what Dumbledore's done in his life, etc, I should rightly dislike him, but I just am incapable, because it's DUMBLEDORE. He says things like "alas" at earwax-flavoured beans. He DELIGHTS in Harry's victories. He wears PURPLE. A LOT.

HARRY POTTER! aeklrsbnkladm! <- That has been pretty much what's been going on in my head all summer and I haven't even reread the books this summer. I've just been filled with ALL THE FEELINGS regarding the books.

I love Dumbledore as a character. He really is one of my favorite characters. :D

Snape I am still kind of indifferent about. Snape fans have been doing their best throughout the years to put me off liking the character.

The first time I read the books I despised all romantic pairings for Harry. I loathed Cho and Ginny. Upon re-reads I've gotten more "meh, couldn't care less"- about shipping. Mostly because there was only one ship important for me in those books (Hermione/Ron forever and ever), every other pairing was secondary and unimportant. And I've gotten more and more rabid about it later in life. Which is fascinating. XD

Your icon just means DUMBLEDORE APPROVES OF TONKS/GINNY!

I remember reading along lalala then suddenly out of left field in the middle of nowhere IT'S TONKS/LUPIN. And my face was all WTF? Where did THAT come from????

I've always kinda liked Snape. (mostly because of the tasty Alan Rickman looking all yummy in those robes. I'm shallow, I admit it. I would let him stir my cauldron anytime.) The other reason I like Snape is fanfiction where he was more Snape than Snape.

Harry/Ginny. YAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNNNNNNN!!111elebenty!!!!! Harry had more chemistry with Aunt Petunia. Ew. I now need a brain scrub.

*sigh* Well, at least Dumbledore was gay. JKR said so.
