GUYS, SOMETHING STRANGE IS AFOOT.

I'm starting to actually... like Rachel. I KNOW, I KNOW. Only a few weeks ago I was seething with hate for her. But I can't help it! She's so self-centered and OTT, I'm weirdly charmed. SHINE ON, CRAZY DIAMOND. SHINE ON.

Her pouty bitchface during the Forget You performance was truly epic, js. I totally understand why one would dislike Rachel, buuuuuut I think I personally have run out of haterade or something. I feel so lost

Everything else... sucked, imo. At first I was like, YAY MERCEDES! And then Glee gave her a storyline that focused on food. FUCK YOU GLEE :|

And Kurt, y so racist? Plus the condescending speech he gave Mercedes about respecting herself was just... wat. WAT. YOU ARE MY FAVORITE MALE CHARACTER KURT, DON'T DO THIS TO ME ;_;

I actually give Kurt a pass on finding a black guy for Mercedes only because of Blaine. I think that finding another gay student that he can really confide in has been so great for him that he'd assume it would go the same way for Mercedes. In any other character (except maybe Puck because he made such a big deal about dating a Jewish girl) I'd find it offensive but not here.

The whole 'eating your pain' storyline was pretty offensive, though - just because she's chubby she overeats? WTF is Glee trying to say with that? That everyone who's overweight is just eating their pain? It's what made that respect speech such bullshit because it's not something Mercedes has really had a problem with in the past - the sort of made it up for this episode. :p

Hmm, that's a good point, I didn't think about it that way. I wonder if the show realized that it was a little iffy, tho. They just had Mercedes say that Kurt was right and she was substituting him for a bf (wtf).

ikr, it went against past Mercedes characterization. I'm not really surprised, though, because continuity is not glee's strong suit. Mercedes has always respected herself and been pretty confident, it's totally bizarre they had her be eating her pain this ep. :/

...I really want some tater-tots now, tho. mmmmm tots oh noes i don't respect myself ;_;

On a more shallow note, the guy Kurt chose was TOTALLY HOT and I would not mind seeing more of him. :D
