lol culture fail

So at my little sister's school, everyone calls the math teacher Mrs. Y. It seems kind of ridiculous, because none of the other teachers are referred to by initials and the math teacher's name is pretty easy to pronounce as far as I can tell.

Me: Wait, why not just call her Mrs. [name removed to protect the innocent]?

Sister: Oh, c'mon. It's an Indian name, WHITE BRAIN CANNOT COMPUTE

lmao. Sad but true.

I suppose it's better than hearing your name mangled eleventy billion times a day.

Indian names aren't so hard if you just take them in stages. For ex. Yo-ga-nan-da

Aaaaaand it helps if the owner of said name pronounces it in sup-er slo-mo for you (i.e. me).

But, yeah. I'd rather be Mrs. Y than Mrs. Yargenblad, Yarglebudd, Yaygenbly, etc.

True, true. Mrs. Y is much better than constant mangling. Admittedly, if I were a student I'd probably be afraid of saying her name wrong too~

(reposted cuz I accidentally posted anon the first time, wtf)
